6.13.07 - 9:30 pm ride, me and Curtis
Started at my house, rode through Eagle Rock, stopped at Johnny’s for a drink and then back to my house.
I got off of work and went to Pasadena Cyclery to by some goods. I bought my bike about 6 months ago and haven’t bought shit for it yet.
I figured now I am committed and I need some stuff. I bought front and rear tail-light, a real pump to get my tires up to pressure, a u-lock and a lock for my seat, a water bottle holder, patch kit, and tire tools. Just over a hundred bucks and alot of shit. The guys there were pretty nice. It’s either hit or miss with bike shops and this one so far is fine with me.
Curtis came over after it got dark and we decided to do a little Eagle Rock action down to York. We rode up Fig from my house, which wasn’t bad at all. We got onto Colorado and rode that down to Eagle rock blvd. I like riding at night. You have more confidence with the lights and a buddy and it’s a lot of fun to ride with the traffic and make left turns at the stop lights. We drove down York and stopped a the new bar Johnny’s. They have a pool table and were playing Easy Rider on a projector which was displayed on the wall. I played pool against some 50 something dad, who was very energetic towards all the people he met. They had just got back from a dodger game and were, needless to say, pretty hammered. The bar itself is too new to pass judgement. It’s not a hipster bar like footsies or cha cha or anything, but has potential to be cool. Lots of local Hispanic not poor, not rich just that I’m some sort of Mexican and were almost like 30 and well we live in LA types. Nice and all just not my flavor. I guess the best way to put it is that the bars I like draw in the creative types. Whether it be music, or art. These people seemed more like the office job types.
